You are very welcome to view this item at our shop : Vintage At The Palace, Garden St, Lytham St Annes, FY8 2AA. Please let us know in advance if you wish to view. Call/text 01253 205140 or 07815 724125. This is very old and dates at least 19th century. Signed to the bottom, with a further smaller mark to one side. The jar measures approximately 12 inches in height, and has an opening diameter of roughly 4.25 inches. It has a circumference of approximately 34 inches, measured at the most bulbous part of the jar. Please note, there is no lid. It really is a fabulous thing. The size is great, the colours vibrant and the subject matter charming and full of character. The artwork on the jar has been sectioned into four panels- two with plenty of people and a horse with rider, in a traditional looking courtyard scene. The other two with butterflies, a bird of paradise and flora and fauna for decoration. Points of condition to note: There are firing marks, bubbles and other marks related to the making of the jar. There are also cracks/hairlines to three of the four panels, which wrap around the jar, and in one panel extends from the base to the top. There is also a crack right across the centre of the base. A previous owner has lined part of the inside of the jar with some heavy duty tape, to keep it secure. All this aside, the jar feels very solid and its condition certainly doesn’t detract from its huge visual appeal. A lovely jar, beautifully decorated. Thank you for looking!

Chinese Canton Famille Rose porcelain was export wares made for the western market. Grand and ornately decorated for Georgian and Victorian taste in the 18th and 19th century. It can always be seen in stately homes. As with many products, over time the quality diminished, and as a result the early pieces are the most desirable today to collectors. Canton Famille Rose works well also in a contemporary space. The contrast of the old fashioned shape looks good in a minimalist home, but the bright colours are in keeping with a modern feel. 18th century Canton Famille Rose is slightly different stylistically than 19th century pieces once you get your eye in. This piece has the colour palette and facial style of 18th century Canton Famille Rose. The last photo is another example of an 18th century piece. There is a small chip to the rim and a hairline near the bottom. Also, some possible historic work done on the rim that is invisible. It is inoffensive and it does not matter to collectors when it comes to really old pieces. This piece is heavily decorated with wonderful palace court scenes. It has sculpted dragons around the neck, a gilded rim and is coloured inside, denoting a higher quality piece. It is a large statement decorators piece. It stands 42cm tall. This is 18th century Canton Famille Rose, so it is Qianlong period porcelain. 18th century Canton Famille Rose pieces you find are often smaller pieces and plates. It is extremely rare to find large 18th century vases. A significant, significant piece in this area. Please research and calculate for your country.
