A late 18th century blue and white porcelain vase, of baluster form, decorated throughout with stylised symbols of longevity. Include peaches, pine trees and spotted deer. One of the Daoist Eight Immortals, Zhang Guo Lao is depicted and embodies good fortune and long life. He is supposed to have transformed out of a bat and is often represented facing backward while riding a white donkey, who could travel a thousand miles a day. Fresh from the local estate we offer you this large antique Chinese baluster shape jar vase blue phoenix birds 14-3/4 tall. It has some crazing and one hairline crack to the base, some imperfections in the glaze. The opening measures 4 3/4 in diameter. The jar is unmarked.
