Shows a palette of bright embers to more subdued amber hues. Reacts beautifully to being backlit for display purposes. Substantial glass with a weight of 4.1kg (9 lb). Great colour and eye-catching gilt decor in the Chinoiserie manner. Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good original order. Rich crimson hues to the waxed paper, showing minimal signs of ageing. Decorative river scenes adorn the wide drum form, with black and gold finish. Removing the lid shows a charming lined interior. It is decorated in a blue and white Chinese dragon design and is marked Flambe, to the base alongside the Royal Doulton factory stamp. This vase was originally made to be a Flambe piece but for untold reasons did not make it to the final firings.
An Oriental, ceramic set from the Art Deco period, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1940. Ceramic in good order throughout both urns. Generously sized, ideal for the fireside or corners of a room.
The vases are circa 1840-50 and from the Canton region. The second (Right side) lamp has had a very small restoration in one area to the top rim but is under the light fittings and anyway almost invisible.
Really Impressive and attractive large Chinese Blue and white Vase on hardwood decorated stand with warriors and Dignitaries painted in underglaze blue. Definably in the Kangxi form (17th Century) and the painting and colour is in keeping with this but my guess is that this is a 19th Century vase. High Quality Hardwood stand has gilded decoration in the form of stylised flowers. Probably original to the vase. A superb piece for any Chinese collection. Size 41.5cm (16.25 inches) tall. With the stand the whole item stands 60cm (23.5 inches) tall. The top rim may have been reduced. It is not at all obvious and it may not have been reduced but I wanted to point this out. The firing cracks have been there since manufacture and do not affect the piece in any way. Will send well packed and quickly.
Bronze Vintage Vase Large Embossed Oriental Design Circa 60′s- 70′s. Body has 5 embossed bands from top to bottom – waves/ trees/ dragons / floral. 9.5″ tall / 240mm tall / 4.25″ neck diameter. 6 / 150mm widest part of body. 4 /100mm base diameter. Weighs 1.25-1.5kg. Very good condition overall – think it’s been used outside, water staining to inside – age related wear to body detailing faded and tarnished in couple of places. A fine and large Chinese famille noir vase dating to circa 1920. Standing on a circular foot and of baluster form the whole decorated and painted with floral designs in iron red, black and gilt. The base with red seal mark and characters. This is a fabulous large impressive vase with vibrant colours and well painted designs. Antique Rare Royal Doulton Blue Flambe Tall Vase Chinese Dragons 51cm Circa 1922. A superb and tall Royal Doulton vase, measuring an impressive 51cm tall. It is decorated in a blue and white Chinese dragon design and is marked Flambe, to the base alongside the Royal Doulton factory stamp. This vase was originally made to be a Flambe piece but for untold reasons did not make it to the final firings.
