LARGE ANTIQUE 19THC CHINESE PORCELAIN JARDINIERE VASE, SCHOLAR HOLDING SCROLL. 24.5cm wide x 15.5cm high. Weight: 2.325 kilos. A large antique 19th century Chinese blue and white hand painted Qing dynasty porcelain jardiniere with tapered sides and flared rim. It depicts a scholar with two attendants spreading a paper scroll with bamboo in the background. This scene is repeated on the reverse and they are interspersed with two panels of prunus blossom on a’cracked ice’ background. There are decorative borders to the sides and and rim.
