Displays a desirable aged patina and in good original order. Rich red glass accentuated with a distinctive elongated orb pattern. Superb colour when backlit, or a more subtle ruby red away from the spotlight. Under certain light, the pattern redolent of a strawberry. Base finished with a rough carved pontil from the blowing process. This is a charming vintage display vase with a fascinating appearance and great colour, reactive the light. Extraordinary Antique Chinese LARGE Blue And White Birds Charger Bowl UNMARKED. PERFECT CONDITION; No damage or repairs, Missing lid. 4.5 – height. 20.5 – width. The bowl features beautiful blue and white birds that are meticulously crafted from porcelain and pottery. The piece is believed to be from the Ming Dynasty, and it has been speculated to be over 200 years old. The bowl is perfect for those who appreciate antique original pieces from China, and it would make a great addition to any collection of Asian antiques.
Width: approximately 10 handle to handle. Depth: approximately 7 1/2. A bit of dirt, Chios and scratches n surface, and various degrees of patina associated with old bronze. Normal wear due to use and age. It is not complicated.
A vintage Foochow black ground lacquer vase, hand decorated with 2 dragons chasing a flaming pearl in gold, red, green and white. Placed on the underside of each of the 4 feet there is a small brass stud. Including the base it measures approximately 26.5cm tall; weighs 240g and dates to pre-1920. Condition; the vase has no damage; one of the feet of the base has been broken and glued back together; it hasn’t happened recently, but it has small hole in the centre of the base which has been filled. A superb large 20th century Chinese porcelain vase and cover. The vase having a pink ground with floral and foliate decorations. The vase is surmounted with decorative metalwork and has a cover with attractive decorative finial. Standing 43 cm high and in good condition.
A pair of large, Meiping form Chinese Fuzhou lacquer vases and stands, early 20th Century. Condition: One vase has a chip to the rim which has been repaired/ glued and it has light vertical cracks in the lacquer: the other vase has an open vertical crack from top to bottom, but it is still sturdy. A leg of one stand has been repaired and also has a chip on the tip of a’branch’. The vases are a true’mirror’ pair and are decorated with 5 toed silver dragons chasing the flaming pearl. Including the stand they measure approximately 40cm tall. The vase without the stand measures 33cm x 8.5cm base diameter and at the widest they are approximately 14cm. The stands are of naturalistic form and measure 7cm from foot to base and 18cm to the tip of the’branches’. A leg of each vase slides out to enable access to the vase. Without stands, one vase weighs 324g and the other, slightly less, weighs 309g.
