This is a vintage Art Deco ginger jar. A Chinese, ceramic decorative spice pot, dating to the mid 20th century, circa 1940. Qianlong mark to base. Antique Chinese Rose Famille Ginger Jar Large RARE FIND. This is a beautiful antique vintage. Chinese porcelain oversized lidded jar/urn richly decorated in famille rose pigments depicting ornate patterns of traditional lotus petal scrolls, Baoxiang flower & and flying bats. The jar has two large panels/medallions with images of birds, butterflies, and flowers against a pure white porcelain background. Ornate “ruyi” garland in vibrant yellow/turquoise/pink enamel accents the top of the jar, with a band of elongated columns in matching colors along the bottom. The lid is finished with a lovely lotus shape textured finial. A gorgeous rare piece! Measures approximately 9-3/4 tall, around. 9-3/4 in diameter at its widest section. Diameter at bottom is about 5-3/4″; the diameter of opening is 3-1/2″. See all pics for details. This item is in pristine condition with no chips or cracks.
