Please note that items. For sale here is this extremely rare, antique Chinese porcelain oil lamp (fluid lamp/kerosene lamp), dating from the 19th century. The lamp has a removable font and a brass duplex burner with wick. The porcelain is beautifully painted with a Rose Mandarin pattern in a Famille Rose palette. The reserved panels are painted with scenes of court life on a ground decorated with scrolls, flowers, butterflies and birds. PLEASE READ THE CONDITION REPORT. This superb export porcelain piece measures approximately 12 inches high (not including the burner) and 6 1/4 inches in diameter at the base. The top half of the base has been broken at some point and has old restoration (it was possibly in three or four pieces, but I think it is all original). The font has no damage. The English-made Sherwood’s duplex burner is included in the sale; it has not been attached to the font. Please examine all photos for details, as they form part of the description. All items are secur. Items sent by courier to remote areas my incur a surcharge. I use large bubble and strong boxes to pack. Handsome as discovered estate condition, no visible cracks, there is a six inch section of the rim that has a brushed glaze finish more matte and slightly darker than the rest of the rim that we suspect is likely an old repair (visible in detail image), small rim chip (visible in detail image), interior wall spot of firing irregularity (visible in detail image quite a ways down the inside), scattered light enamel wear and scattered light surface dirt. 19th Century Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Vase w/ Mandarin Characters. This large Chinese famille rose porcelain vase is decorated with large colorful enamel scenes of mandarin characters. The background is decorated with flowers, butterflies, birds, and fruit. The inside of the mouth is decorated with enamel flowers. It has two animal handles and is highlighted with gold gilt. It dates from the mid to the 19th Century and measures approximately 23 + 3/4 inches tall, 8 + 3/4 inches across the mouth, and 10 inches across the shoulder. It is in excellent condition with the exception of some wear on the gilt and enamel, along with two crows feet in the glaze on the underside of the base, as can be seen in the photos.
