Large Chinese Vase

A large and interesting hand painted and nicely enameled vase of baluster form, the mouth flared. The top section with copious Lilac colored wisteria , peony and flying insects en grisaille. Lovely shaped unusual green leaf handles. The skirted top section finished with green plant tendrils together with peaches and apple and prunas blossom. The belly decorated with a pink lotus in full flourish with Chinese Egret feeding off them. One bird perched on wysteria of Orange colour. Another Egret feeding off them. One bird perched on Wysteria of orange colour. Another egret walking between the green stems issuing from the turquoise-colored tranquil lake. Lovely enameled exotic magpie type birds conversing on Taihu stones. Apple blossom at the roots of the lotus. Several praying mantis rests on the lotus together with large beetles descending the lotus stems and some of them. The base of the vase with a pair of mandarin ducks in the water. It has a Buddhist lion handles with gold rings in their mouths. Height approx 46cm or 18. Stand for display only.
