This antique Chinese martaban storage jar is a stunning piece with an olive glaze and paneled design. Each panel has a different motif hand painted. The jar is made of a red pottery and covered with a slip. It dates back to the 19th century, and comes from the Shiwan region in China. The glaze shows crazing in many areas on the jar that reflects the age of the piece. There is some age appropriate loss to colored slip on the jar, please see pictures. This piece is a perfect addition to any collection of Asian antiques and would make a great display piece in any home or office. Most items I sell are estate items, antique or used. This item is in the same condition as I found it. I do not do any major cleaning of above item. I leave that up to the new owner(s).
