Up for sale is this gorgeous and large Chinese red oxblood / Sang de Bouef / Langyao monochrome glazed baluster scholar art vase. I believe it dates to around the mid 20th C, possibly a little older. Hand turned and the red color is spectacular. Looks to be in great condition with just a tiny glaze loss towards the bottom edge. I have one other nearly identical to this. This one measures 17″ inches tall and 7.7″ inches wide (43.2 cm, 19.6 cm). Would make a fantastic display piece, fine addition to a collection, or a great gift! A phenomenal and quite large guan or blue ge-type vase, with long, lightning-bolt like darker crackle – sometimes referred to as’Iron Line’ – set against a webbing of finer golden web of crackle – referred to as’Golden Thread’. Quite a heavily potted piece. 5 spur marks on base. There appears to be some trace of a darkening agent around the foot-ring – a practice typical in the Qing dynasty in an attempt to recreate the look of Song ceramics. Chinese, likely Qing Dynasty, 19th century through early 20th century, possibly dating to the early Republic. A fine large antique Chinese porcelain Meiping vase. The body stoutly potted resting on a splayed foot and flaring rim. Covered in an even dark red Langyao rich raspberry glaze draining to white. On the flaring lip with a neat red floating ring. The base glazed off white with a fine crackle glaze and burnt orange to foot rim. Condition; Fine, drilled hole to base. All over crazing to the glaze. No damage or repairs. The side of the base has been ground down to remove the pooling glaze at time of production. Size; 15 inches (38 cm) high. Weight; 4 Kg unpacked. This is an Antique Large Chinese Black Monochrome Porcelain Garlic Vase made during the Yung-cheng Dynasty which was from 1723 – 1735. The Vase is in perfect condition with no cracks or chips. The Vase comes with the pictured wood display stand. The Bottom is stamped with the Yung-cheng Dynasty stamp. The Vase is 15 1/2″ tall, and about 9″ in diameter at the widest point. The Base is 4 1/2 in diameter. The Vase weighs 5 LBS 15 OZ. The wood base is 6 3/4 in diameter. Most of the items I sell are estate finds, and are presented to you in, as is, as found condition.
