Large 19th Century Chinese Turquoise Ground Famille Rose Vase Repaired. A lovely vase dating to c1850. Profusely decorated with chrysanthemum, famille rose and birds on a turquoise background. The neck is painted on a pink background with green flowers and two blue 4 toed writhing dragons. The interior and underside are painted green. Condition : This vase has undergone an antique rivet repair, popular during the 19th Century. This style of repair allows us to understand that this is indeed an antique example, setting it aside from modern replicas. The vase bears losses at the rim as visible in the images. Size of chips to rim: 4.2cm & 0.7cm x 1.9cm. Provenance : From one of Norfolk’s fine stately homes, an honest piece. Size : Height: 62cm Diameter 22cm approx.
