17th century Dutch Delft vase baluster tall. Sterling silver mounted and semi precious stones. Material: Delft, Earthenware, tinglaze, Cobalt, sterling silver, semi precious stones. Style: Chinese transitional, Louis XIV, Baroque. Origin: Netherlands, Delft 17th century. An important and rare Dutch Delft baluster vase. The shape and very well done decoration are made in the Chinese Transitional porcelain style. The vase is silver mounted and has a silver removable cover. On the cover several semi precious stones and the finial is a attached with a screw. The cover shows lambrequin alternating rocailles shells diminesh in scale. The vase stands on a laquer base which is attached with a silver mounted band of crown motifs. Not glued on the base. Condition: Typical superficial wear, small sections of glaze loss, wear on the vase and base. Small loss silver crown base rim. Height 18.5 inches – 47cm.
