A Large Chinese Antique Famille Rose. Tobacco Leaf Porcelain Tureen & Platter. A Very fine quality Chinese antique porcelain tureen painted in vivid famille rose enamels in classic Tobacco Leaf Style. Tobacco Leaf, one of the most prized of Chinese Export patterns, in 1770′s. This piece was painted with a colorful and warm spring scene of tobacco blossoms and overlapping arrangement of tobacco leaves in various colors plus some beautiful birds, The two handles were shaped in the form of lotus heads finely painted and gilted. The finial is also made in a natural original lotus head with rich gilt. It is dated circa Qing Dynasty. The tureen at its widest is measured about 16 inch (40.6cm) in its longest, 8 3/4 inch (22.2cm) in its widest for the bowl without lid and about 8 1/4 inch (21cm) high with the lid on. Platter is 15 3/8 (39cm). There is one very small flake inside the rim of tureen, see the photo of #7 at around 11 O’clock. I think it was caused by the old age.
