White ground, hand painted with profusely enamel depicting butterflies, bird and flowers. The polychrome enamels are raised and can be felt running your fingers across the vase. This vase was cleanly drilled to the base for use as a lamp. Total Tall 18 1/8 (46 cm). Tall vase 14 5/8 (37 cm). Diameter Top 4 1/2 (11.5 cm). Diameter base 6 1/8 (15.5 cm). Very pretty, large Chinese “millefleurs” porcelain vase with ormolu mounts and handles, the body with all over floral decoration, seal mark to base and Chinese paper label, 20 (51cm) high. The vase was made in China probably in the late 1800′s and exported to Europe where the ormolu mounts were applied to appeal to European tastes/market.
