This is a lovely pair of soap stone hand carved double vases with carved leaves inbetween. Beautifully made Japanese ornament. Beautiful large very old hand carved piece. Antique large Chinese’water lillies’ soapstone vase and base 20th Century. Would look amazing in the right location! A lovely rare find. The base and vase separate for transport (both are carved soapstone). Overall maximum dimensions: 15cm diameter x 32cm high. Very good condition, no damage. The odd minor irregularity (burring) to the sharp edges, which have mostly been there from creation (to be expected with such a piece). This gorgeous tall and elegant Chinese soapstone vase from early 20th century is finely hand carved and is one of the finest pieces of Chinese soapstone carvings. The artist carver chose a multi color stone to carve Fenghuang, mythical bird akin to Phoenix, along with another small bird plus Chinese mums & foliage on the rust red and black soapstone. The vase is done in a reticulated carving, giving the object an airy quality. Soapstone is soft and it is a good medium for carving very elaborate designs. But it is also fragile. This rare piece has remained fully intact without any chips or cracks through the years. Truly a very rare, highly collectible find. It stands10.5″ and is 7″ wide. Vintage Large Chinese Soapstone Hand Carved Floral and Bird Vase. Stunning antique soapstone bud vase flower decoration. Intricately carved out of a smoky, matte Chinese soapstone. This late 19th century Chinese soapstone vase of flat-back waisted design, with a flared rim. Beautifully decorated to the front with a high-relief flower branch and bird. The vase and the stand are attached and one solid piece. The vase is made very skillfully. Approximate Dimensions: 8″ Wide x 6″ Deep x 16 High. Approximate Weight: 14 lbs. Vase has some minor imperfections (scratch in rear) and chip in bottom front. This still makes for an absolute stunning display piece as shown in the pictures. This carved soapstone vase has an extrodinary design of a bird sitting among brush. It has a wonderful Asian styling to it. This is a Large Vintage Chinese hand carved soapstone statue of a head of cabbage or bok choy with two small birds, displayed on a nice made to fit wood stand. This statue and wood stand are in perfect condition with no cracks or chips. The Statue has very nice detail and colors. The statue measures 6 1/4″ wide by 4″. The statue is 5 1/2″ tall (6″ when on wood stand) and weighs 3 LBS 9 OZ. The wood stand is 7 1/4″ by 4 1/4″ and about 3/4 tall. There are some numbers etched on the bottom that appear to read “1320 NV” and “10165″. I do not know what they stand for. Most of the items I sell are estate finds, and are presented to you in, as is, as found condition. They are described to the best of my knowledge.
