Chinese Nanking Crackle Jar. 10″ tall x 8″ wide without the lid. I can’t put an accurate/honest date on without spending more time than I can afford to spend on it. Large 19th C antique Chinese Nanking Famille Verte Crackle Glaze Pottery Vase; fat baluster-form, decorated with figures and three set of warriors on horseback in battle scenes; the three horses are in red, white and brown; each warriors are wearing uniform in green&yellow; pink&green and yellow&pink Condition: 4 small spots of thin layer glaze nibbling to the underside – below the top opening rim – otherwise perfect; no cracks or hairlines (see 21 photos). Large Antique Nanking Crackle Glaze Warrior Vase – CHINA. A nicer than usual example of a Nanking vase, featuring battle scenes, probably from the classic Chinese novel: “The Story of the Three Kingdoms”. Crackle glazed and beautifully enameled in Famille Rose colors. The addition of blue and yellow are unusual for this type of vase. Large foo dog shaped handles, and the vase is encircled with a band of salamanders. Signed/marked on the bottom, this is a genuine antique dating from the mid to late 19th century. Some stains throughout and chip to one of the salamanders, and a large chip to the underside of the rim (see last two photographs).
