Chinese Porcelain Cabbage in Canton Famille Rose Verte Large Vase. Reading from right to left the mark read You Xian Ju Jianzhi. The two characters You xian when together means “Living alone” or “In retirement” why the combination is usually translated as “retreat”. The two last characters Jian zhi means “Overseen and Produced (Make)”. These marks are all applied onto modern porcelain related to United Wilson of Hong Kong. CHINESE ORIENTAL CERAMIC VASE – YOU XIAN JU JIANZHI. A superb and fine example of an original late 20th century Chinese ceramic vase, most likely dating from circa 1965 – 1970, of baluster form with applied handles modelled as pomegranates, hand decorated with various ornate and oriental figures, bats and flowers, and a scroll held by a dragon with calligraphic script, brick red on black ground. Red printed figure mark to base’You Xian Ju Jianzhi’. A beautiful piece of good proportions. Good condition with no damage. 21 by 36cm high.
