LARGE ANTIQUE 18TH CENTURY CHINESE QIANLONG PERIOD IMARI TANKARD/MUG ONE OF THE LARGEST CHINESE MUGS I HAVE OWNED, I HAVE TAKEN A PHOTO NEXT TO A CHINESE TEA BOWL FOR SIZE (THE TEA BOWL IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE SALE) THE DESIGN SHOWS A BIRD ON EACH SIDE OF THE MUG RESTING ON BRANCHES WITH FLOWERS AND FOLIAGE IN OVER PAINTED REDS AND GOLD. THE BRANCHES ARE UNDERGLAZED BLUE AND THE BIRDS ARE UNDERGLAZED BLUE AND UNDERGLAZED COPPER RED THAT HAS BEEN PAINTED WITH GOLD FOR THE DETAIL. THE GOLD HAS LITTLE WEAR AND SHOWS UP WELL. WITH THE DESIGN HAVING UNDERGLAZED COPPER RED IT COULD DATE TO THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE QIANLONG PERIOD.. THE CONDITION IS GOOD BUT THE HANDLE HAS SOME GLAZE THAT HAS COME AWAY THAT IS SHOWN IN THE PHOTO. AT THE TOP OF THE MUG ON THE INSIDE THE TOP CENTIMETER IS UNGLAZED. Large antique Chinese imari porcelain basin handwash early 18th Century. A very rare and huge porcelain handwash basin from the early 18th century, painted and decorated in Chinese Imari. The basin have been been reglued and retouched with goldpaint to cover the cracks. A few of the nicks to the rim have been refilled and painted with gold. The imari decoration on the basin is all original and have not been altered or retouched. Diameter: 39 cm or 15,35 Inch. This also includes to carefully look at all pictures. Please contact me if you require any additional information or more pictures. The judgement of the condition and age, color of the object is based on our personal opinion and experience. I have for sale a large antique Japanese Imari covered serving bowl. It has an oval shaped body, and a unique flower shaped cover handle. It is hand painted in traditional “famille rose” style. Covered with colorful, highly decorative flower/floral and leaves design. On all exterior, except the bottom. On the bottom is a red writing/marking. I believe it says “Imari”. Approximate dimensions are: 14″ long, 8.5″ wide, and 11 tall. This is a finely crafted, beautifully illustrated, traditional pottery work. That is in great vintage condition overall. Large Aesthetic period vase in shades of Iron red, Cobalt blue and Gold with Light green details, all against a white background. Produced by the Minton factory in Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, England in 1888. It is decorated beautifully in the Imari palette with flowers, scrolls, leaves and gilding. The Condition is lovely, with just some very small firing cracks in the area of the decorative handles – I have shown close ups of these areas (including dust). The base is marked with the printed Mintons globe mark in puce, an iron red decorators mark and various impressed letters and numbers as follows. The date mark for 1888. The impressed numbers 2844, which identify the shape of this vase. According to the description in’Minton, The First Two Hundred Years of Design & Production’ by Joan Jones, it is described as’Vase with cover with Chinese base’ – we have never had a cover with it, though the dimensions would fit better with the book if it had. It measures 35 cm High and 20 cm Wide. The condition is excellent with only the very small firing cracks as detailed above.
