Vintage Chinese Porcelain Covered Jar Description and Item Information Up for sale is this beautiful, vintage Chinese porcelain ginger jar or lidded vase. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This piece has famille noire type decoration with a motif of blossoms. There are bands of decoration with turquoise blue backgrounds. This large jar is approximately 9 3/4 inches tall, and it has a maximum width of about 7 3/8 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 5 pounds 4.2 ounces. A previous owner applied felt to the base ring. This would be a fine addition to a collection of Asian decorative arts. Identification This item is unmarked. The exact age is not known, but it is believed to be vintage. Condition The jar looks very good overall, with no chips or cracks to the porcelain. This piece has light wear, with some fine scratches. The gold decoration has light wear. The rim of the jar has some glaze wear, presumably from rubbing on the lid. Variations in glazing are as made. Terms of Sale 1.
