This beautiful chinoiserie pottery with described uses as a basin, foot bath or jardinère planter, is quite heavy and measures an impressive 19″ long, 12.5″ wide and 8.25 tall. The ideas for use in your home are many. Made of solid and durable ironstone, this large oval planter features a European style landscape transferware design both inside and out. The design is a rich cobalt blue against a background of lighter bluish/green not pure white as most Chinese pottery depicts. This pattern is known as Victoria Ware and was made in China honoring the old 19th century Staffordshire pottery. There are no signs of chips, cracks or crazing. In excellent vintage condition.
