17th century Dutch Delft vase baluster tall. Sterling silver mounted and semi precious stones. Material: Delft, Earthenware, tinglaze, Cobalt, sterling silver, semi precious stones. Style: Chinese transitional, Louis XIV, Baroque. Origin: Netherlands, Delft 17th century. An important and rare Dutch Delft baluster vase. The shape and very well done decoration are made in the Chinese Transitional porcelain style. The vase is silver mounted and has a silver removable cover. On the cover several semi precious stones and the finial is a attached with a screw. The cover shows lambrequin alternating rocailles shells diminesh in scale. The vase stands on a laquer base which is attached with a silver mounted band of crown motifs. Not glued on the base. Condition: Typical superficial wear, small sections of glaze loss, wear on the vase and base. Small loss silver crown base rim. Height 18.5 inches – 47cm. A pair tall antique Dutch Delft baluster vases with foo dog finial. Hand made and painted in the 17th century Dutch Delft style. Material: Delft earthenware, tin glaze. Design: Chinoiserie in the manner of, Chinese Transition style, Chinese Kangxi style, Daniël Marot, Adrianus Cockx, The Greek A Factory. Origin: The Netherlands, Delft, 19th century. Marked: Both vases are marked under the base. Technique: Hand crafted and painted. Tall 19th century Dutch Delft vases of octagonal form decorated in the 17th century Delft style. On the cover, shoulders and base with lambrequins after. On the body of the vase all over chinoiserie in the 17th century Chinese transitional / Kangxi style. On top a foo dog finial. Condition: Good, a restoration upper rim (see pics) glaze loss and minor imperfection foo dog which which is typical of this type of Delftware. Height: 26.4 inches – 67cm. Diameter: 12.9 inches – 33cm. Delftware or Delft pottery is also known as Delft tinglazed earthenware. Delftware includes pottery objects of all descriptions such figurines, plates, vases and other ornamental forms and tiles. The start of the Delft style was around 1600.
