LRG ANTIQUE CHINESE CELADON BLUE & WHITE JAR LION DOG KANGXI QIANLONG EXPORT A beautiful large antique blue and white celadon Chinese jar possibly of the Qianlong, Kangxi period or thereabouts. The jar with a celadon ground and decorated with an impressively large stunning lion dog together with clouds and other decoration with the lid decorated with bats The jar measures ; (21.5cm) 8.1/2″ inches high x approx (21.5cm) 8.1/2″ inches across at widest point. The jar is in excellent condition just showing one tiny snip to the inside top rim edge and when viewed and magnified through an eye glass is a small short faint dark surface scratch in the glaze to the top of the rim edge, hardly noticeable but mentioned for the sake of absolute accuracy also showing some odd few original firing imperfections , otherwise with no other damage, chips, cracks or restoration to the jar. The lid is a slightly darker celadon colour than the jar but is believed to be original to the jar and the lid has been badly damaged at some point having been broken in three pieces and amateurly glued back together, it is though complete with no chips so should be quite an easy restoration if required, also the very top point of the lids knop shows some age wear having some friting to the glaze and with the many pictures showing this beautiful jars condition where it can be judged on it’s own merit, so please do enlarge and check these out carefully if it is of interest.
