LARGE 21.75 INCH TALL CHINESE PORCELAIN WUCAI VASE. Qing Dynasty, 1700s – 1800s. Monumental antique hand painted porcelain vase. Spectacular polychrome imagery, depicting three beautiful ladies of the court and a young imperial child playing with a lantern. Magnificent scenery which is quite spectacular, with bold colors and intricate detail. The artist has depicted a great deal of detail in the silken costumes, colorful botanicals, scrolling vermilion clouds in overglaze enamel, underglaze blue bats at the neck, strong architectural fences, and handsome garden accoutrements. All set off upon a sublime white porcelain ground. The vase is of significant size, measuring approximately 21.75 inches tall. Makes quite a statement from all the way across the room. The monumental vase is of handsome form with a high shoulder and a slender neck, flared at the rim. Bold, vibrant, and tasteful in the traditional Chinese aesthetic.
