Presented is an antique relief bronze Japanese or Chinese vase with flowers and bird. This is a very exquisite and eye catching work of art. The detail is very fine and the craftsmanship is excellent on this piece. The vase is very heavy and solid bronze. It measures 12″ tall by 7″ wide. There are flowers and branches on the front and a bird depicted on the back. The vase is quite old and probably dates to the early 1900′s , maybe earlier. The patina is dark from age. In the first several photos, my flash actually lightens the color of the vase. The last few photos show the actual rich brown finish. Condition is very good, however this was originally a lamp base that someone converted to a vase. The bottom is sealed with some sort of plastic or glass material. The stand is NOT original to the vase. This was added much later. The vase measures 12″ tall and 7″ wide (without the stand). There are several options I see with this beautiful piece. You can display it as is – with or without the stand. Or you can convert it back into a lamp and I believe this would make an absolutely stunning lamp. In any case, this is a great and rare piece.
