This is a stunning piece of bronze metal work. Definitely old with great patina. Some of the gilding remains, possibly been buried at some point? As shown in the photos there is some damage, please check the photos closely. The insert does not have a bottom, not sure if the canister would have had a bottom or a glass insert. Even the inside base is detailed with bamboo leaves. Last photo shows a pencil rubbing of the signature we found on the inside. Measures About 9 1/2″ tall, 11 1/2″ at its widest point, opening is 5 1/2″ and the base is 7 3/4″. We found this at an upscale Oregon coast estate.
