19th Century Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Vase w/ Mandarin Characters. This large Chinese famille rose porcelain vase is decorated with large colorful enamel scenes of mandarin characters. The background is decorated with flowers, butterflies, birds, and fruit. The inside of the mouth is decorated with enamel flowers. It has two animal handles and is highlighted with gold gilt. It dates from the mid to 3rd quarter of the 19th Century and measures approximately 23 + 3/4 inches tall, 8 + 3/4 inches across the mouth, and 10 inches across the shoulder. It is in excellent condition with the exception of some wear on the gilt and enamel, along with two crows feet in the glaze on the underside of the base, as can be seen in the photos.
